Statewide teamed with Ver-Mac to deliver message board signs to the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power.

NIPOMO, CA. – January 28, 2021 – Statewide Safety Systems recently was awarded a contract to sell and supply the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power with 49 transportation sign message and 51 arrow boards. Statewide partnered with Ver-Mac, a leading manufacturer of mobile electronic transportation control and lighting/security equipment.

The Los Angeles Department of Water & Power is the nation’s largest municipal utility with a 7,880 megawatt electric capacity. For more than 100 years, it has provided the city with reliable water and power service and currently serves an average of 438 million gallons of water per day to the four million residents and businesses in the city.

“To be competitive on this opportunity, we partnered with Ver-Mac, a highly respected industry leader,” explained Don Nicholas, Chief Executive Officer for Statewide Safety Systems. With headquarters in Quebec, Canada, Ver-Mac opened a new U.S. manufacturing facility in Houston in 2019.

“The message boards are designed to be programmable by the end user for a number of different deployments,” continued Nicholas. “This includes everything from standard construction or closure notices and event management messages for concerts and sports events, to emergency management such as warnings or post-incident messaging. Statewide provides training and user support after the sale to ensure the customer is able to maximize all of the benefits.”

Statewide will deliver Ver-Mac single mast, solar 25-light arrow boards and the PCMS-548/HYD. A mini full-matrix, trailer-mounted portable message sign, the PCMS-548/HYD is NTCIP compliant and offers a full complement of benefits. This includes a V-Touch controller with a 7-inch LCD touchscreen display, V-Sync Wi-Fi communication stealth technology, and JamLogic Fleet Management software. Optional tilt-and-rotate solar panels not only provide an energy efficient design, but cost effective messaging for lower speed roads and urban areas.

TxDOT signs two-year contract with Statewide Safety Systems

DALLAS, TX – September 2, 2020 – Statewide Safety Systems recently was awarded a two-year contract by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to provide services and equipment for its operations in Wood and Van Zandt counties. As part of the agreement, Statewide will supply more than a dozen employees daily, as well as equipment including pilot vehicles and truck-mounted attenuators.

TxDOT is responsible for maintaining 80,000 miles of road and supporting aviation, maritime, rail and public transportation across the state. Statewide expanded its operations into nearby Tyler, Texas in 2019, and continues to grow its service offerings in eastern Texas.

“Eastern Texas is a rapidly growing area. The city of Tyler alone has a larger population than many better known places such as Fort Myers, Florida and Green Bay, Wisconsin,” stated Travis Riley, Texas Regional Manager for Statewide Traffic Safety & Signs. “As the region grows, providing safe work zones is a critical component that Statewide specializes in.”

“For nearly 20 years, Statewide and its predecessor company, Altus Traffic Management, have been proud to partner with TxDOT to provide safe, reliable and cost-effective services for the people of Texas,” said Don Nicholas, CEO of Statewide Safety Systems. “This is an exciting opportunity to continue our partnership as the company continues to expand its footprint.”
